Stop Suffering
From Dry Air

Colorado Springs averages just 15% indoor humidity in winter — far below the healthy 30–50% range. Dry air causes nosebleeds, cracked skin, poor sleep, and worsens asthma. Highland Heating & Air installs Honeywell whole-home humidifiers that fix it automatically.

The Colorado Problem

Your Home Is Drier Than You Think

At 6,035 feet, Colorado Springs has some of the driest indoor air in the country. Most homes sit well below the 30% humidity threshold all winter — and portable humidifiers barely make a dent.

🩸
Nosebleeds & Dry Sinuses
Nasal passages need moisture to stay healthy. Chronic dry air dries out mucous membranes, causing frequent nosebleeds and sinus pain — especially in kids.
😮‍💨
Asthma & Allergy Flare-Ups
Dry air irritates airways and makes allergens and dust particles more airborne. Proper humidity significantly reduces triggers for asthma and allergy sufferers.
😴
Disrupted Sleep
Dry air causes throat irritation, snoring, and waking up parched. Balanced humidity means deeper, more restful sleep for the whole family.
🪵
Damaged Wood & Furniture
Hardwood floors crack and separate. Wood furniture warps and joints loosen. A whole-home humidifier protects thousands of dollars in your home.
🧴
Dry Skin & Chapped Lips
No amount of lotion fixes the problem at the source. Adding moisture to your home air is the most effective way to relieve chronic dry skin all winter.
💰
Higher Heating Bills
Humid air feels warmer — you'll be comfortable at 68°F instead of 72°F. Most homeowners offset a significant portion of humidifier costs through energy savings alone.

Most Colorado Springs Homes Are in the Danger Zone

Without a whole-home humidifier, indoor humidity during winter heating season routinely drops to 10–20%. A Honeywell humidifier brings you back to the comfortable, healthy 30–50% range automatically.

Three Systems, Every Home Size & Budget

Bypass
💧
HE120 / HE220
Bypass Humidifier
Most popular · Best value

Uses your furnace's airflow to distribute moisture throughout the home. No separate fan needed — installs on the supply or return duct and runs whenever your furnace does. Ideal for most Colorado Springs homes.

Most Effective
Fan Powered
🌀
HE265 / HE360
Fan Powered Humidifier
Best for larger & tighter homes

Built-in fan pushes air through the water panel independently — works even when the furnace fan isn't running. Produces ~33% more humidity output than bypass models. Our most recommended upgrade for Colorado's extreme dryness.

Up to 4,000 sq ft coverage Independent built-in fan 33% more output than bypass Works with energy-efficient furnaces Ideal for very dry climates

Steam
♨️
HE300 / HE400

Got Questions?

Whole-Home Humidifier FAQs

What's the difference between bypass and fan-powered?
Bypass humidifiers use your furnace blower to push air through a water panel. Fan-powered units have their own built-in fan, so they produce more humidity and work even when the furnace fan isn't running — making them better suited for Colorado's extreme dryness.
Do I need a humidifier if I already have a portable one?
Portable humidifiers only treat a single room and require constant refilling. A whole-home system connects to your water supply and furnace, treating every room automatically — and it's far more effective in Colorado's low humidity conditions.
How often does a whole-home humidifier need maintenance?
Bypass and fan-powered models need their water panel (evaporator pad) replaced once a year — typically at the start of heating season. Steam units require periodic cleaning of the steam cylinder. Our Maintenance Club covers annual reminders and service.
Will a humidifier cause mold or moisture problems?
Not when properly set and installed. We set the humidistat to the correct level for your home and season. Over-humidification is rare in Colorado's dry climate — the air absorbs moisture quickly. We also check for proper drainage during installation.
